Manali Sanctuary

The Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary located in the state Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The sanctuary begins about 2 km from Manali. It is the watershed of Manalsu khad. Away from Manali log huts and Dhungri temple go through dense Deodar, Horse chestnut, Kail, Maple forests and walnut. The most common animals seen here are Monal and Brown bear, Musk deer Leopard and Snow leopard, etc.  Herds of Ibex are seen migrating in the glacier zone in summers. This place was declared has sanctuary on 26 February 1954, under the Punjab Birds and Wild Animals Protection Act of 1933.
